Project SARAI is an action-research program funded by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD). We work towards reducing climate risks by providing agricultural stakeholders with site-specific crop advisories.
Our program anchors on sustainability through multi-level partnerships. Our goal is to establish regional and community-level SARAI hubs—resource centers where farmers can access up-to-date information and report real-time farm conditions.
We craft targeted crop advisories for nine priority crops: rice, corn, banana, coconut, coffee, cacao, sugarcane, soybean, and tomato.
These advisories integrate local weather data and drought forecasts with farm management activities, specifically focusing on nutrient and water management, as well as proactive pest and disease monitoring.
